Phil & Sondra Markwardt
The lure of excitement and adventure on the last frontier drew Pastor Phil from his comfortable home in Sheboygan, Wisconsin to volunteer one summer at Victory Bible Camp. He fell in love with Alaska (and Sondra, his wife) and decided to make it his home. After a career with the Forest Service, he answered the Lord’s call to full-time pastoral ministry, earned a Master’s of Divinity at Multnomah in Portland, and then returned to Alaska as associate pastor at Lazy Mountain Bible Church. Pastor Phil has lead Crossroads since the beginning. He and Sondra have four grown children. Sondra grew up in bush Alaska in a village on the Yukon River. Sondra graduated from Multnomah Bible College, married Phil in 1976 and raised four "world changers". Sondra loves the Word of God, the unfathomable-ness of grace, the depth of the mystery and wonder of God, the beauty of Jesus and the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit.

He and Brenda have two daughters and two sons and three grandsons. Dennis has a true gift of imparting the Father's heart, stirring revival and drawing together different parts of the body to live in community for Jesus. Rosie was born and raised in the great state of Alaska, growing up on the island of Sitka. Her dad was a worship leader at the church where she grew up, so she had a love of worship and music in general from a young age. Rosie was always involved in activities to refine her gift; from choir and theater to private lessons in piano and voice. In a divine encounter at the age of 12, she knew God had called her to use her gift for him. Rosie ventured outside of the state to develop her skills. She received her music degree from Azusa Pacific University in Southern California. After two years working as a worship leader and schoolteacher in Eagle River, she decided to attend Hillsong College in Australia to develop her leadership in ministry. In February of 2006 she returned to Alaska and has attended Crossroads Community Church ever since.
Rosie has a vision for seeing the generations come together in worship and has a heart for developing the technical, as well as the spiritual aspect of the musician’s lives. She also has a desire to see all the other creative arts offer their form of worship to God; whether it’s through dance or prophetic art.
Rosie resides in Eagle River with her husband Brad, their dog Solomon and cat Cleo.
